भोक्ता च श्राद्धकृत्तस्यां रजन्यां मैथुनं त्यजेत् । तथा स्वाध्यायमध्वानं प्रयत्नेन परित्यजेत् ॥ ७६ ॥
bhoktā ca śrāddhakṛttasyāṃ rajanyāṃ maithunaṃ tyajet | tathā svādhyāyamadhvānaṃ prayatnena parityajet || 76 ||
அந்த இரவில் ஸ்ராத்த உணவை உண்டவரும் ஸ்ராத்தம் செய்தவரும்—இருவரும் மைதுனத்தைத் தவிர்க்க வேண்டும். அதுபோல ஸ்வாத்யாயமும் பயணமும் முயன்று விலக்க வேண்டும்.
