Narada (teaching within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue context)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that a simple, sattvic act of worship—offering a ghee lamp—can function as powerful purification (pāpa-kṣaya), granting merit comparable to the famed tīrtha-act of bathing in the Gaṅgā.
Bhakti is expressed through accessible offerings (dīpa-dāna) made with reverence; the verse also emphasizes inclusive devotion by honoring both Śaṅkara and Viṣṇu, presenting worship as a direct means to inner cleansing and grace.
Ritual practice (kalpa-oriented application) is implied: dāna/arcana procedures such as offering a properly fueled lamp (ghṛta-dīpa) as part of pūjā, showing how small ritual observances yield recognized spiritual results.
