Narration of Dharma
prayāti śivasānnidhyamityāha kamalodbhavaḥ | culukodakamātreṇa liṅgaṃ saṃsnāpya bhūmipa || 123 ||
Suta (narrator) quoting Brahma (Kamalodbhava)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that sincere devotion (bhakti) is primary: even a very small offering—abluting the liṅga with a palmful of water—can grant Śiva-sānnidhya (nearness to Śiva).
By emphasizing that the magnitude of the offering is not the measure of merit; heartfelt worship and reverence in liṅga-pūjā is presented as sufficient to obtain divine grace.
Ritual practice (kalpa-oriented prayoga) is implied: liṅga-snāpana/abhiṣeka as a valid upacāra, and that even a minimal quantity (culukodaka) can be ritually effective when done with proper intent.
