Adhyaya 89 — The Wrath of Shumbha and Nishumbha and the Fall of Nishumbha
शुम्भमुक्ताञ्छरान्देवी शुम्भस्तत्प्रहिताञ्छरान् ।
चिच्छेद स्वशरैरुग्रैः शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥
śumbhamuktāñcharāndevī śumbhastatprahitāñcharān / ciccheda svaśarairugraiḥ śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ
தேவி சும்பன் விடுத்த அம்புகளை வெட்டினார்; தேவியால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட அம்புகளையும் சும்பன் வெட்டினான்—தத்தம் கூர்மையான அம்புகளால், முதலில் நூறுகளாகவும் பின்னர் ஆயிரங்களாகவும்.
