मार्कण्डेय उवाच आत्मप्रभावेण ततस्तस्य रूपं द्विजन्मनः ।
कृत्वा चचार यत्रास्ते निषण्णा सा वरूथिनी ॥
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ātmaprabhāveṇa tataḥ tasya rūpaṃ dvijanmanaḥ | kṛtvā cacāra yatrāste niṣaṇṇā sā varūthinī ||
மார்கண்டேயர் கூறினார்—அப்போது அவன் தன் சக்தியால் அந்த இருமுறை பிறந்த (த்விஜ) மனிதனின் வடிவத்தை ஏற்று, வரூதினி அமர்ந்திருந்த இடத்திற்குச் சென்றான்।
