Adhyaya 57 — The Ninefold Divisions of Bharata: Mountains, Rivers, and Peoples
दक्षिणापरतो ह्यस्य पूर्वेण च महोदधिः । हिमवानुत्तरेणास्य कार्मुकस्य यथा गुणः ॥
dakṣiṇāparato hy asya pūrveṇa ca mahodadhiḥ | himavān uttareṇāsya kārmukasya yathā guṇaḥ ||
இதன் தெற்கும் மேற்கும் கடல் உள்ளது; கிழக்கிலும் பெருங்கடல் உள்ளது; வடக்கில் ஹிமவான் நிற்கின்றான்—வில்லின் வளைந்த நாண்போல் அதன் வடிவை வரையறுப்பதுபோல்.
