तद्दोयतां द्विजसुतौ यदि वां प्रणयो मयि ।
एतावता अहं दैवेन वञ्चितोऽस्मि दुरात्मना ॥
tad doyatāṃ dvija-sutau yadi vāṃ praṇayo mayi |
etāvatāhaṃ daivena vañcito 'smi durātmanā ||
‘ஹே பிராமணப் புதல்வர்களே, உங்களுக்கு என்மீது அன்பு இருந்தால், அதையே எனக்குத் தாருங்கள். நான் இவ்வளவிலேயே விதி—அந்த இரக்கமற்ற சக்தி—ஆல் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டேன்.’
