Adhyaya 23 — Ashvatara’s Vow for Madalasa and the Bestowal of Musical Science by Sarasvati
जीवितं गुणिनः श्लाघ्यं जीवान्नेव मृतोऽगुणः ।
गुणवान् निर्वृतिं पित्रोः शत्रूणां हृदयज्वरम् ॥
jīvitaṃ guṇinaḥ ślāghyaṃ jīvanneva mṛto 'guṇaḥ | guṇavān nirvṛtiṃ pitroḥ śatrūṇāṃ hṛdaya-jvaram ||
சத்புருஷரின் வாழ்வு புகழத்தக்கது; துஷ்டன் உயிருடன் இருந்தாலும் இறந்ததற்குச் சமம். நற்குணவன் பெற்றோருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி தருவான்; பகைவரின் உள்ளத்தில் காய்ச்சலை எழுப்புவான்.
