अधो हि वर्षाम वयं मर्त्याश्चोर्ध्वप्रवर्षिणः ।

तोयवर्षेण हि वयं हविर्वर्षेण मानवाः ॥

adho hi varṣāma vayaṃ martyāś cordhvapravarṣiṇaḥ |

toyavarṣeṇa hi vayaṃ havirvarṣeṇa mānavāḥ ||

Translation

நாங்கள் கீழே மழை பொழிகிறோம்; மானவர்கள் மேலே ‘மழை’ பொழிகிறார்கள். நாங்கள் நீர்மழையால்; அவர்கள் ஹவிஸ் (ஆஹுதி) மழையால் செய்கின்றனர்।
