परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
आगमाश्च यथाकाले संकल्पाश्न यथाक्रमम् । अपेतकामक्रोधानां दुश्चराचारकर्मणाम्,उन्होंने काम और क्रोधको त्याग दिया था। उनके आचार-कर्म दूसरोंके लिये आचरणमें लाने अत्यन्त कठिन थे। उनके हृदयमें यथासमय शास्त्र-ज्ञान और सत्यंकल्पका क्रमश: उदय होता था
āgamāś ca yathākāle saṅkalpāś ca yathākramam | apetakāmakrodhānāṃ duścarācārakarmaṇām ||
காலத்திற்கேற்ப அவர்களுள் சாஸ்திர ஞானம் உதயமானது; வரிசைப்படி அவர்களின் சத்திய சங்கல்பம் முதிர்ந்தது. ஆசையும் கோபமும் நீங்கிய அவர்களின் ஒழுக்கமும் தவநெறியும் அத்துணை கடுமையானவை; பிறர் அதை பின்பற்றுவது மிக அரிது.
