भीष्म उवाच विज्ञाय यातुधानीं तां कृत्यामृषिवधैषिणीम्‌ । अत्रि: क्षुधापरीतात्मा ततो वचनमत्रवीत्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca vijñāya yātudhānīṃ tāṃ kṛtyām ṛṣivadhaiṣiṇīm | atriḥ kṣudhāparītātmā tato vacanam abravīt ||

Translation

பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—“அரசே! அவளுடைய சொற்களைக் கேட்ட மகரிஷி அத்ரி, அவள் யாதுதானி—முனிவர்களை அழிக்க விரும்பும் க்ருத்யா—என்று உணர்ந்தார். ஆயினும் பசியால் உள்ளம் கலங்க, அத்ரி அப்போது இவ்வாறு பேசினார்.”
