Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
स हि नैव सम देवानां नासुराणां न रक्षसाम् । वध्य: स्यामिति जग्राह वरं त्वत्त: पितामह,पितामह! उसने आपसे यह वरदान प्राप्त कर लिया है कि देवताओं, असुरों तथा राक्षसोंमेंसे किसीके हाथसे भी मारा न जाऊँ
sa hi naiva sama devānāṁ nāsurāṇāṁ na rakṣasām | vadhyaḥ syām iti jagrāha varaṁ tvattaḥ pitāmaha, pitāmaha |
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்— “பிதாமஹரே! அவன் உங்களிடமிருந்து இவ்வரத்தைப் பெற்றான்— ‘தேவர்கள், அசுரர்கள், ராக்ஷசர்கள் இவர்களில் யாராலும் நான் கொல்லப்படாதிருக்க வேண்டும்’ என்று.”
