Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
तमोघनायामपि वै निशायां विचरिष्यथ । बिलमें रहते समय तुम आहार न मिलनेके कारण अचेत और निष्प्राण होकर सूख जाओगे तो भी भूमि तुम्हें धारण किये रहेगी--वर्षाका जल मिलनेपर तुम पुन: जीवित हो उठोगे। घने अन्धकारसे भरी हुई रात्रिमें भी तुम विचरते रहोगे
tamoghanāyām api vai niśāyāṁ vicariṣyatha |
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அடர்ந்த இருளால் நிறைந்த இரவிலும் நீர் உலாவுவீர். குகையில் மறைந்து இருக்கும்போது உணவு இல்லாததால் உணர்விழந்து, உயிரற்றதுபோல் உலர்ந்தாலும், பூமி உம்மைத் தாங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கும்; மழைநீர் கிடைத்தவுடன் நீர் மீண்டும் உயிர் பெறுவீர். இவ்வாறு, கனத்த இருளினிடையிலும் உமது நடை தொடரும்.
