यस्त्वत्र मन्त्रसमयो भारयपत्योर्मिथ: कृत: । तमेवाहुर्गरीयांसं यश्चासौ ज्ञातिभि: कृत:
yas tv atra mantrasamayo bhāryāpatyor mithaḥ kṛtaḥ | tam evāhur garīyāṁsaṁ yaś cāsau jñātibhiḥ kṛtaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—கணவன் மனைவி இருவரும் பரஸ்பரம் புனித மந்திர உச்சாரணத்துடன் செய்யும் உறுதிமொழியே மிகப் பெருமைமிக்கதாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது. அதே பந்தத்தை உறவினரும் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு ஆதரித்தால் அது இன்னும் பாராட்டத்தக்கது; ஏனெனில் தனிப்பட்ட வாக்குறுதியுடன் சமூக அங்கீகாரமும் நிலைத்தன்மையும் இணைகின்றன.
