पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
यद् ब्राह्मणमुखात् प्राप्तं प्रतिगृह्लन्ति वै वच: । भूतात्मानो महात्मानस्ते न यान्ति पराभवम्
yad brāhmaṇamukhāt prāptaṁ pratigṛhlanti vai vacaḥ | bhūtātmāno mahātmānas te na yānti parābhavam ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அனைத்து உயிர்களுடனும் ஒருமைப்பாடு கொண்ட மகாத்மாக்கள், பிராமணன் வாயிலிருந்து வரும் அறிவுரையைச் சான்றாகக் கொண்டு ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள். அத்தகையோர் தோல்வியையோ அழிவையோ அடைவதில்லை; ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் அகந்தையையோ அவசரத் தூண்டுதலையோ அல்ல, தர்மத்தில் நிலை கொண்ட வழிகாட்டுதலையே தேர்வுசெய்கிறார்கள்.
