पद्मनाभो5रविन्दाक्ष: पद्मगर्भ: शरीरभृत् । महर्द्धिर््रद्धो वृद्धात्मा महाक्षो गरुडध्वज:
bhīṣma uvāca | padmanābho 'ravindākṣaḥ padmagarbhaḥ śarīrabhṛt | maharddhir ṛddho vṛddhātmā mahākṣo garuḍadhvajaḥ ||
பீஷ்மர் கூறினார்—அவர் பத்மநாபன்; அரவிந்தாக்ஷன், தாமரை-கண்; பத்மகர்பன், இதயத் தாமரையில் தியானிக்கத் தக்கவன்; சரீரப்ருத், உடலுடையோரைக் காப்பவன். அவர் மாபெரும் ஐஸ்வர்யம் கொண்டவன், உயர்ந்தவன், பழமையான ஆத்மா, விரிந்த கண்களையுடையவன், கருடக் கொடியைத் தாங்கியவன்—இந்நாமங்களால் ஆண்டவன் போற்றப்படுகிறான்।
