Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
गन्धर्व उवाच एवमासीन्महाभागा तपती नाम पौर्विकी । तव वैवस्वती पार्थ तापत्यस्त्वं यया मत:
Gandharva uvāca: evam āsīn mahābhāgā Tapatī nāma paurvikī | tava Vaivasvatī Pārtha Tāpatiḥ tvaṃ yayā mataḥ ||
கந்தர்வன் கூறினான்—ஓ பார்த்தா! பழம்பெரும் குலத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மகாபாக்யவதி ‘தபதி’ வைவர்ஸ்வான் சூரியனின் மகள்; அவள் உன் முன்னோர் சம்வரணனின் மனைவியாக ஆனாள். ஆகவே, ஓ பிருதாபுத்திரா, நீ ‘தாபத்ய’ எனக் கருதப்படுகிறாய்।
