Suta
This verse functions as a vamśa (lineage) marker: by preserving sacred genealogies, the Purana situates later Shiva-puja and Linga-pratiṣṭhā narratives within an authenticated dharmic history upheld by devas and seers.
Shiva-tattva is implied rather than explicit: the birth of renowned, deva-approved figures reflects the ordered unfolding of creation under Pati (Shiva) as the supreme regulator, while pashus (souls) take embodied birth within that cosmic order.
No specific puja-vidhi or Pashupata yogic limb is stated in this verse; it primarily serves the narrative purpose of mapping generations that later become connected to Shiva worship, vows, and Linga installations.
