शब्दः स्पर्शश्च रूपं च रसो गन्धं समाविशन् / तसमात् पञ्चगुणा भूमिः स्थूला भूतेषु शब्द्यते

சப்தம், ஸ்பரிசம், ரூபம், ரஸம், கந்தம் ஆகியவை அனைத்தும் புகுந்தபோது, ஐந்து குணமுடைய பூமி தோன்றுகிறது; பூதங்களில் அதுவே மிக ஸ்தூலமானது எனப்படுகிறது.
