Sukta 118
वर्मधारणम्। मर्माणि ते वर्मणा छादयामि सोमस्त्वा राजामृतेनानु वस्ताम्। उरोर्वरीयो वरुणस्ते कृणोतु जयन्तं त्वानु देवा मदन्तु
mármāṇi te vármaṇā chādayāmi sómas tvā rā́jā amŕ̥tenā́nu vastām | urór varī́yo váruṇas te kr̥ṇotu jáyantaṃ tvā́nu devā́ madantu
Thy vital parts I cover with armour: let Soma the King clothe thee round with immortality. Let Varuṇa make for thee a broader, safer space; let the Gods rejoice, attending thee victorious.
வர்ம-தாரணம். உன் மర్మங்களைக் (உயிர்முனைகள்) கவசம் (வர்மம்) கொண்டு நான் மூடுகிறேன்; சோம-ராஜன் உன்னை அமரத்துவத்தால் எல்லாப் புறமும் ஆடையணியச் செய்யட்டும். வருணன் உனக்காக இன்னும் விரிந்த, பாதுகாப்பான இடத்தை அமைக்கட்டும்; தேவர்கள் உன்னைத் தொடர்ந்து, வெற்றியுடன் இருப்பதைக் கண்டு மகிழட்டும்.
