स्मरः। यं देवाः स्मरमसिञ्चन्नप्स्व१न्तः शोशुचानं सहाध्या। तं ते तपामि वरुणस्य धर्मणा
smaráḥ | yáṃ devā́ḥ smaráṃ ásiñcann apsv àntáḥ śóśucānam sahā́dhyā | táṃ te tapāmi váruṇasya dhármaṇā ||
Smara—whom the Gods poured in, within the waters, burning therewithin, together and over all—him I scorch for thee by Varuṇa’s ordinance.
ஸ்மரன்—தேவர்கள் நீர்களின் உள்ளே ஊற்றியவனை, உள்ளுக்குள்ளே, எங்கும், ஒன்றாக எரிந்தவனை—வருணனின் தர்மம் (ஆணை) படி உனக்காக நான் தகிக்கச் செய்து/சுடுகிறேன்.
