Sukta 81
यद् द्याव इन्द्र ते शतं शतं भूमिरुत स्युः । न त्वा वज्रिन्त्सहस्रं सूर्या अनु न जातमष्ट रोदसी
yád dyā́va indra te śatáṃ śatáṃ bhū́mir utá syúḥ | ná tvā vajrin sahásraṃ sū́ryā ánu ná jātám aṣṭá ródasī ||
Though there were for thee, O Indra, a hundred and a hundred heavens, and earths likewise—yet should not a thousand suns in succession match thee, O Vajrin, nor what is born within the two worlds.
ஓ இந்திரா! உனக்காக நூறு நூறு வானங்களும், அதுபோல நூறு நூறு பூமிகளும் இருந்தாலும், ஓ வஜ்ரின்! தொடர்ச்சியாக உதிக்கும் ஆயிரம் சூரியர்களும் உனக்கு ஈடாகாது; மேலும் இரு உலகங்களான த்யாவா–பிருதிவியின் உள்ளே பிறப்பதெல்லாம் கூட உனக்கு ஒப்பாகாது.
