ब्रह्मज्येष्ठा संभृता विर्याऽणि ब्रह्माग्रे ज्येष्ठं दिवमा ततान । भूतानां ब्रह्मा प्रथमोत जज्ञे तेनार्हति ब्रह्मणा स्पर्धितुं कः
bráhma-jyeṣṭhā́ saṁbhṛtā́ vīryā̀ṇi bráhmā́gre jyeṣṭháṁ divám ā́ tatāna | bhūtā́nāṁ bráhmā prathamóta jajñe ténārhati bráhmaṇā spárdhituṁ káḥ
Brahman is the eldest: gathered are the potencies. Brahman, in the beginning, as the most excellent, stretched forth the heaven. Of beings Brahmā was born first indeed: who, by that Brahman, is worthy to contend with Brahman?
பிரம்மமே மூத்தது; வீர்யங்கள் (சக்திகள்) அனைத்தும் திரட்டப்பட்டு ஒன்றாகச் சேர்க்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஆதியில் பிரம்மம், மிகச் சிறந்ததாக இருந்து, வானத்தை விரித்து நிறுவியது. உயிர்களுள் பிரம்மா முதன்முதலில் பிறந்தான்—அப்படியிருக்க, அந்தப் பிரம்மத்தின் வலத்தால் பிரம்மத்துடன் போட்டியிடத் தகுதியானவன் யார்?
