Sukta 3
यो दध्रे अन्तरिक्षे न मह्ना पितॄणां कविः प्रमतिर्मतीनाम्। तमर्चत विश्वमित्रा हविर्भिः स नो यमः प्रतरं जीवसे धात्
yó dadhré antárikṣe ná mahnā́ pitṝṇā́ṃ kavíḥ prámatir matīnā́m | tám arcata viśvámitrā́ havírbhiḥ sá no yamáḥ prátaraṃ jīváse dhāt
He who is set in the mid-air, as by his greatness—the Fathers’ sage, the forethought of men’s thoughts—him worship, O ye friends of all, with oblations: may that Yama ordain for us a further passage unto life.
தன் மகிமையால் அந்தரிக்ஷத்தில் நிலைபெற்றவர்—பித்ருக்களின் கவி, மனிதர்களின் சிந்தனைகளுக்கான முன்னறிவு—அவரை, ஓ உலகமெங்கும் நண்பர்களே, ஹவிஸ்களால் அர்ச்சியுங்கள். அந்த யமன் எங்களுக்கு வாழ்வை நோக்கி மேலும் செல்லும் வழியை விதிக்கட்டும்.
