FAQs

Ayurvedic pathya (wholesome dietetics): it prescribes specific foods—milk with a light preparation (vāṭya), ghee-cooked vāstūka greens, and staples like wheat, śāli rice, barley, plus bitter items—as beneficial for abdominal/digestive disorders (jaṭhara-roga).

It shows the Agni Purana functioning beyond mythology by preserving practical Ayurveda—dietary prescriptions and therapeutic food categories—alongside its many other domains (ritual, polity, arts), making it a compendium of applied knowledge.

By maintaining the body through prescribed wholesome foods (pathya), one supports purity, steadiness of practice, and fitness for dharma and worship—health is treated as a foundation for sustained religious duty and disciplined life.
