ஹஸ்த, புஷ்ய, அஷ்வயுஜ, சௌம்ய, வைஷ்ணவ முதலிய சுப நக்ஷத்திர/நேரங்களில், நீராடிய பின் ‘இமா ஆபः…’ முதலான குறிக்கப்பட்ட மந்திரங்களை உச்சரித்து, உதும்பர மரத்தால் செய்யப்பட்ட ஸ்ருவா (ஹோமக் கரண்டி) மூலம் கடுகு எண்ணெயை ஆஹுதியாக அளிக்க வேண்டும். மேலும் இடது கையால் தலைமேல் குசப் புல்லைத் தாங்கி விதியை நடத்த வேண்டும்.
