FAQs

It teaches Mani-kalpa: constructing/assigning a protective gem (maṇi) linked to Varuṇa, and indicates an akṣara-based (letter/syllable) mapping for the Saumyā amulet (ka, gha, cha, ña) used in ritual classification or activation.

Beyond theology, it preserves practical ritual-technology—how specific amulets/gems are categorized by syllables and dedicated to particular deities (here Varuṇa), demonstrating the Purana’s catalog-like transmission of applied religious sciences.

By dedicating a fear-removing (Abhayā) protective gem to Varuṇa and using correct classification/activation markers, the practitioner seeks protection, removal of fear/obstacles, and fulfillment of aims (sarva-kāma), aligning personal welfare with divine order (ṛta).
