“வஸந்தே…” என்று தொடங்கும் மந்திரத்தை உச்சரித்து நெய் ஆஹுதி செய்தால் ஆதித்யன் (சூரியன்) அருளும் வரம் கிடைக்கும். “ஸுபர்ணோऽஸி” மந்திரத்தின் கர்மப் பயன்பாடு கர்மவ்யாஹ்ருதிகளைப் போலவே செய்யப்பட வேண்டும்.

Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Mantra","secondary_vidya":"Samanya","practical_application":"Homa with ghee using a ‘vasanta-’ mantra to obtain a boon from Āditya; instruction that ‘suparṇo ’si’ is to be applied like karmavyāhṛtis (operational vyāhṛti usage).","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Commentary","entry_title":"Āditya-varaprada ‘vasanta-’ ghr̥ta-homa; ‘suparṇo ’si’ employed as karmavyāhṛti","lookup_keywords":["vasanta mantra","ghṛta-homa","Āditya vara","suparṇo 'si","karmavyāhṛti"],"quick_summary":"Offer ghee with the ‘vasanta-’ mantra for solar boon; apply ‘suparṇo ’si’ in ritual exactly as one would apply karmavyāhṛti formulas—i.e., as an operative utterance tied to the act."}

Concept: Mantra is not merely praise but a functional operator (kriyāṅga) in yajña; correct viniyoga (application) determines ritual efficacy.

Application: When adapting mantras, preserve their viniyoga: utter them at the exact action-point (offering/placing) as with karmavyāhṛtis; use solar-oriented homa for clarity, authority, and auspicious boons.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Homa-vidhi (Vedic mantra-prayoga and oblation procedure)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A ghee oblation poured into a homa fire at dawn, the Sun (Āditya) rising behind; a side inset shows a ritualist uttering ‘suparṇo ’si’ at the precise moment of an operative act, annotated like a manual.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, dawn gradient sky, large stylized solar disc, homa-kunda with bright flames, priest pouring ghṛta, mantra glyphs ‘vasanta…’ floating, inset panel showing ‘suparṇo ’si’ as action-linked utterance.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, gold-leaf Sun with radiating spokes, gold-highlighted ghee stream and flames, Āditya granting boon gesture, ornate frame, small cartouche explaining ‘karmavyāhṛti-vat’.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore style, technical instructional layout: step 1 ghṛta-homa with ‘vasanta-’, step 2 demonstration of ‘suparṇo ’si’ viniyoga like vyāhṛtis, clean lines and labeled implements.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, sunrise homa in palace courtyard, detailed vessels (sruk/sruva), realistic ghee sheen, Sun rendered with halo, marginal notes in calligraphic panels about operative mantra usage."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Suryakant","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: vasante + iti → vasanteti; hutvā + ājyam → hutvājyaṃ; ādityāt + varam → ādityādvaram; suparṇaḥ + asi + iti → suparṇosīti; ca + iti → ceti; vyāhṛti + vat → vyāhṛtivat.

FAQs

It prescribes a specific homa-application: offer ghee while reciting the “vasanta-” mantra to gain Āditya’s boon, and apply the “suparṇo ’si” mantra according to the standard karmavyāhṛti-style ritual usage.

It functions like a compact ritual manual entry, cataloging mantra-to-result mappings (mantra-prayoga) and standardized procedural rules (karmavyāhṛti method), illustrating the text’s practical coverage of liturgy alongside theology.

The act links precise mantra-recitation with a sattvic offering (ghee) to invoke solar grace (Āditya-anugraha), implying that correct ritual performance yields merit and fulfills lawful desires through divine sanction.
