Concept: Dīkṣā is effected through mantra-homa counts plus devī-santarpana (nivedana), culminating in authorized entry of the disciple.

Application: Use proportional counting (daśāṃśa) for aṅgas to keep the rite balanced; treat nivedana as the deity’s ‘acceptance’ before admitting the student.

FAQs

It specifies a diksha-linked homa sequence: 100 oblations with the deity’s mūla-mantra, followed by aṅga-mantra oblations in one-tenth count, then nivedana to the Goddess and formal admission (praveśa) of the disciple.

It preserves precise procedural details—mantra categories (mūla/aṅga), numerical counts (śata, daśāṁśa), and initiation flow (nivedana → praveśa)—showing the text’s practical coverage of ritual technology alongside its many other disciplines.

The prescribed counts and offerings are meant to purify and empower the rite: the homa sanctifies the disciple and aligns them with the Goddess’s mantra-shakti, making the initiation ritually complete and spiritually efficacious.
