FAQs

It gives clinical-style diagnostic markers for a rākṣasī-type affliction, specifying day-wise symptom progression (pain on the 11th day; restlessness, dyspnea, and fear-driven agitation on the 12th).

Alongside ritual and theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied medical knowledge—here, a symptom taxonomy used to identify and prognosticate graha/bhūta-related disorders, reflecting its broad, compendium-like scope.

By identifying such afflictions accurately, one can pursue appropriate remedial measures (protective rites, mantras, and purificatory observances) and reduce harm, aligning health-care with dharmic protection and purification.
