Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Pūjā-vidhi for dṛma-ropaṇa: brāhmaṇa–candra and dik/nakṣatra/devatā worship","lookup_keywords":["dṛma-ropaṇa","candra-pūjā","dhruva-pañcaka","vāyavya","hasta-nakṣatra","prājeśa-vaiṣṇava"],"quick_summary":"Before/while planting trees, perform worship of a brāhmaṇa and the Moon, and propitiate the five ‘fixed’ points/stars, the north-west direction, Hasta nakṣatra, and the Prājeśa and Vaiṣṇava divine aspects for stability and success."}

Concept: Kriyā (action) becomes siddhi-bearing when aligned with devatā, dik, and kāla; planting is treated as a sanctified saṃskāra for the landscape.

Application: Combine ecological action (planting) with minimal pūjā and timing observances to strengthen communal commitment and continuity of care.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Vrata–Dāna–Pratiṣṭhā / Ritual Procedure)

FAQs

It prescribes a vṛkṣāropaṇa (tree‑planting) procedure augmented with specific devotional targets—Brāhmaṇa, Moon (Chandra), fixed points/deities (dhruvāṇi pañca), the Vāyavya quarter, the Hasta nakṣatra, and Prajāpati/Viṣṇu aspects—indicating an astrologically and directionally keyed puja sequence.

It blends environmental dharma (tree planting), ritual protocol (pūjā of dvija), jyotiṣa elements (Chandra, Hasta nakṣatra), and dik‑devatā/directional considerations (Vāyavya), showing how the text integrates multiple knowledge-systems into a single practical rite.

By combining charitable/meritorious action (planting trees) with properly aligned worship (of lunar, stellar, directional, and divine principles), the act is framed as a dharmic rite intended to stabilize auspiciousness, accrue puṇya, and support prosperity and well‑being.
