Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Role: liberating
The verse teaches vairāgya and śaraṇāgati: when one casts out the fear of death and stands in dharma with a steady mind, Shiva grants paramānanda—inner freedom in this life and auspicious attainment beyond death.
Saguna Shiva, as the compassionate Lord who guides devotees, instructs them to replace death-fear with trust in Him. Linga-worship trains this steadiness by fixing awareness on Shiva as Pati (the Lord) beyond the changing body, making action fearless and dharmic.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to calm death-anxiety and strengthen courage, along with Tripuṇḍra-bhasma and Rudrākṣa as reminders of impermanence and devotion while acting firmly in one’s duty.
