Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Mantra: विसंगाय परेशाय शिवाय परमात्मने । निष्प्रपंचाय शुद्धाय परमायाव्ययाय च
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
It centers devotion on Śiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) who is untouched by bondage and the changing world, guiding the seeker toward purification and liberation (moksha).
Though it praises Śiva’s transcendent nature (beyond prapañca), it supports Linga/Saguna worship by giving the devotee a clear inner understanding: the worshipped form points to the formless, imperishable Supreme Self.
Use the verse as a dhyāna-stotra before japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), contemplating Śiva as śuddha (pure) and avyaya (unchanging) while offering water, bilva leaves, or bhasma with devotion.
