FAQs

It summarizes a moment in the creation narrative: Svāyambhuva Manu creates the Prajāpatis and is then commanded to proceed with the work of creation (progeny/expansion of beings).

The Prajāpatis are progenitor-lords—creative agents responsible for generating and organizing living beings in the unfolding of cosmic creation.

The verse highlights dharmic duty and obedience to divine instruction: even exalted figures like Manu act according to a higher mandate, carrying out creation as an ordained responsibility rather than personal will.
