ययातिरुवाच । पापात्पतति कायोयं धर्माच्च शृणु मातले । विशेषं न च पश्यामि पुण्यस्यापि महीतले
yayātiruvāca | pāpātpatati kāyoyaṃ dharmācca śṛṇu mātale | viśeṣaṃ na ca paśyāmi puṇyasyāpi mahītale
ययातिरुवाच—पापात् पतति कायोऽयं धर्माच्च शृणु मातले। विशेषं न च पश्यामि पुण्यस्यापि महीतले॥
Yayāti
Concept: Both sin and merit bind the embodied being to falling and returning; mere puṇya on earth does not yield lasting distinction without liberation-oriented devotion.
Application: Do good without attachment to reward; convert merit into devotion by offering actions to Viṣṇu, cultivating nāma-japa, and seeking sat-saṅga so that puṇya becomes a ladder to vairāgya rather than another chain.
