Narada (as narrator within the Uttara-Bhaga discourse on tirtha/ritual merit; traditional dialogue frame involves Narada and Sanatkumara)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches the karma principle that heavenly reward is finite: after enjoying honor in svarga for a vast span, the soul returns to birth, here specifically as one inclined to uphold Vedic duty through Agnihotra.
By implication, it contrasts temporary heavenly fruits with sustained dharma: ritual merit can elevate one to svarga, but lasting liberation requires higher orientation (often taught elsewhere as Vishnu-bhakti), beyond finite rewards.
It points to Śrauta ritual practice—Agnihotra (daily fire offering)—which relies on correct mantra recitation and procedure supported by Vedanga disciplines like Śikṣā (phonetics) and Vyākaraṇa (grammar) for accurate Vedic usage.
