FAQs

It highlights divine regulation: Vāyu checks speech in accordance with Brahmā’s resolve, implying that harmony in the worlds is preserved when actions (even speech) align with higher cosmic intention (ṛta/dharma).

While not directly a bhakti instruction, it supports bhakti ethics: a devotee disciplines speech and follows divine will, cultivating samacitta (balanced mind) that makes devotion steady and non-reactive.

Indirectly, it underscores disciplined vāṅ-niyama (restraint of speech), a practical application linked with Śikṣā (proper utterance) and Vyākaraṇa (right usage), where speech is governed for dharmic order rather than impulse.
