Adhyaya 75 — The Fall and Restoration of Revatī Nakṣatra and the Birth of Raivata Manu
प्रियव्रतान्वयभवो महाबलपराक्रमः ।
पुत्रो विक्रमशीलस्य कालिन्दीजठरोद्भवः ॥
priyavratānvayabhavo mahābalaparākramaḥ |
putro vikramaśīlasya kālindījaṭharodbhavaḥ ||
प्रियव्रतवंशे जातः महाबलपराक्रमः; विक्रमशीलस्य सुतः, कालिन्द्याः गर्भसमुद्भवः।

Purāṇic kings are situated within lineages to stress continuity of dharma; personal merit (parākrama) is praised alongside inherited responsibility.
Vaṃśa and Vaṃśānucarita: explicit genealogical anchoring (anvaya) of a ruler.
Genealogy here is also a map of transmitted saṃskāra—virtues and duties ‘born’ through familial and cultural matrices (jaṭhara as symbolic field of formation).
