The verse upholds the ideal of integrated formation: martial competence (dhanurveda) is to be grounded in Vedic learning and disciplined study ‘in due order’. Power is legitimized by knowledge and right training.
Primarily falls under Vaṃśānucarita (accounts of lineages/biographies) in the broad Puranic sense—narrating the formation and qualifications of a key figure rather than cosmogenesis or manvantara chronology.
‘Dhanurveda’ symbolizes controlled force; ‘Veda’ symbolizes right vision. Their pairing suggests that outward action must be guided by inner alignment with ṛta/dharma—an archetype of harmonizing śakti (capacity) with śāstra (guiding wisdom).
