ददाम्यलंकृता: कन्या वसूनि विविधानि च । मनसकश्षाप्यभिप्रेतं युद्धे शत्रुनिबर्हणा:,विराटने कहा--युद्धमें शत्रुओंका संहार करनेवाले वीरो! ये रत्न और धन जैसे मेरे हैं, वैसे ही तुमलोगोंके भी। तुम सब लोग यहाँ सुखपूर्वक रहो और जिस कार्यमें तुमलोगोंकी रुचि हो, वही करो। मैं तुम सबको वस्त्राभूषणोंसे विभूषित कन्याएँ, नाना प्रकारके रत्न, धन तथा और भी मनोवांछित पदार्थ देता हूँ
virāṭa uvāca | dadāmy alaṅkṛtāḥ kanyā vasūni vividhāni ca | manasaś cāpy abhipretaṁ yuddhe śatrunibarhaṇāḥ ||
ददाम्यलङ्कृताः कन्याः वसूनि विविधानि च । मनसः काङ्क्षितं चापि युद्धे शत्रुनिबर्हणाः ॥ रत्नानि धनधान्यानि यथा मम तथैव वः । इह सुखेन वसत यत्कर्म रुच्यते कुरुत ॥
