The verse highlights steadfastness under suffering: even when wounded, warriors committed to their duty and objective do not withdraw. It frames perseverance as an expression of kṣatriya-dharma—endurance, courage, and unwavering pursuit of the chosen aim in a righteous contest.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāñcāla forces, fighting alongside the Pāṇḍavas, continue to press Droṇa despite being struck by arrows. Their sustained assault and determination make them extremely hard to stop or defeat at this moment in the battle.
