Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how decisive, disciplined action in battle—especially when aligned with one’s duty—creates moral and psychological ascendancy. Dhrishtadyumna’s ‘tejas’ symbolizes not only physical prowess but also the authority and confidence that arise when leadership successfully protects and advances a righteous cause.

Sanjaya reports that Dhrishtadyumna has routed the opposing army. After scattering their forces, he stands out among his own side with exceptional brilliance, compared to Indra shining among the gods.
