Sukta 1
यशा यासि प्रदिशो दिशश्च यशाः पशूनामुत चर्षणीनाम्। यशाः पृथिव्या अदित्या उपस्थेऽहं भूयासं सवितेव चारुः
yaśā́ yāsi pradíśo díśaś ca yaśā́ḥ paśūnā́m utá carṣaṇīnā́m | yaśā́ḥ pṛthivyā́ ádityā upásthe ’háṃ bhūyāsaṃ savitéva cā́ruḥ ||
With glory thou goest through the fore-regions and the quarters; glorious among cattle and among the peoples. Glorious in Earth’s—Aditi’s—lap, may I become, like Savitar, fair and gracious.
