FAQs

It gives a technical rule of mantra-śāstra: certain mantras are considered instantly efficacious when framed with specific ‘siddha/su-siddha’ beginnings and ‘śānta-siddha/su-siddhānta’ concluding formulas, and are to be treated as siddha (already perfected) in use.

Beyond mythology, the Agni Purāṇa preserves practical, system-like instructions on mantra composition and ritual efficacy—one of its many technical domains alongside architecture, polity, medicine, and literary theory.

By prescribing ‘śānti’ (pacification) and ‘siddhi’ (attainment) as formal mantra-components, the verse frames mantra practice as a means to remove obstacles and stabilize spiritual results, aiming at swift success with controlled, auspicious intent.
