Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Mantra","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Complete mantra-sādhana workflow: dhyāna → japa → homa → abhiṣeka using a bīja-prefixed Vaiṣṇava mantra for mohana (enchantment/attraction) and iṣṭa-kāma-prāpti.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Viṣṇu-trailokya-mohana-mantra: dhyāna–japa–homa–abhiṣeka-vidhi","lookup_keywords":["trailokya mohana","Om shrim krim hrim hum","japa homa abhisheka","Vishnu mantra","mantra sadhana"],"quick_summary":"Meditate on the mantra, recite it in japa, perform homa, then abhiṣeka; the bīja-mantra ‘oṁ śrīṃ krīṃ hrīṃ hūṃ …’ is taught as a means to accomplish desired aims through structured ritual practice."}

Concept: Siddhi arises from integrated practice: inner visualization (dhyāna), sonic repetition (japa), fire-transmutation (homa), and consecratory bathing (abhiṣeka).

Application: Adopt the fourfold sequence as a template for mantra practice; treat bījas as ‘power-seals’ that frame the deity-name and function (trailokya-mohana) within a disciplined rite.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Mantra-sadhana (Tantric-Vaishnava rites and ritual procedure)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A sādhaka performs a four-step rite: seated meditation on Viṣṇu-mantra, then japa with mālā, then homa into a fire altar, and finally abhiṣeka pouring sanctified water over a Viṣṇu icon; the mantra ‘oṁ śrīṃ krīṃ hrīṃ hūṃ…’ is central.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, four-panel narrative: (1) yogic dhyāna, (2) japa with rudrākṣa/tulasi mālā, (3) homa with flames and ladle, (4) abhiṣeka over Viṣṇu; rich reds/greens, sacred fire glow, mantra syllables in the border.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore, central Viṣṇu icon with gold-leaf halo receiving abhiṣeka; side vignettes of japa and homa; ornate vessels and lamps; mantra bījas embossed in gold on the frame.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore, instructional sequential layout with clear depiction of dhyāna→japa→homa→abhiṣeka; neat altar geometry; readable mantra text panel ‘oṁ śrīṃ krīṃ hrīṃ hūṃ…’.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, manuscript-style four scenes with fine architectural interiors: meditator, rosary recitation, fire ritual with attendants, and abhiṣeka over a jeweled Viṣṇu image; elegant calligraphy cartouche of the mantra."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"devotional","suggested_raga":"Bhairavi","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: dhyāyenmantraṃ → dhyāyet + mantram; japitvainaṃ → japitvā + enam; juhuyāttvabhiśecayet → juhuyāt + tu + abhiśecayet; kāmānāpnoti → kāmān + āpnoti.

FAQs

It teaches a complete mantra-prayoga: dhyāna (meditation) → japa (repetition) → homa (fire offering) → abhiṣeka (ritual bathing/consecration), centered on a Viṣṇu mantra empowered with bīja-syllables.

Beyond myth and theology, it preserves applied ritual technology—specific sequencing of sādhanā steps and the use of bīja-mantras—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical worship manuals (pūjā-vidhi) alongside many other disciplines.

The verse frames disciplined worship as a means to siddhi: by properly executing mantra meditation, japa, homa, and abhiṣeka, the practitioner is said to attain desired ends while aligning action with devotion to Viṣṇu.
