Ayurvedic clinical instruction: a practical herbal formulation (lehya/lickable medicine) for śvāsa (dyspnea/asthma), using bhārgī with yaṣṭimadhu, honey, and ghee, or a compound of pāṭhā–tiktā–kaṇā–bhārgī taken with honey.
It demonstrates the Agni Purana’s non-ritual, applied knowledge sections—here, Ayurveda—by prescribing specific materia medica and dosage form (lickable linctus), alongside its broader coverage of dharma, rituals, polity, arts, and sciences.
While primarily medical, the Purana frames such therapies as dharmic welfare-acts (hitacaryā): preserving life and health supports religious duty, enabling continued worship, study, and righteous conduct.
