FAQs

It lists specific upacāras (ritual requisites) centered on sesame—food offerings (guḍaudana, tilāpūpa), a sesame-paste pratimā, sesame-bath purification, and incense/fumigation with prescribed leaves and rājaphala bark.

Rather than theology alone, it preserves a practical checklist of materials for a specific rite—foods, substances, and aromatics—showing the Agni Purana’s catalog-like transmission of ritual technology and procedure.

Sesame-based offerings and sesame-bath are classically associated with purification and ancestral/merit rites; following the prescribed materials is intended to enhance ritual efficacy and accrue puṇya through correct observance.
