Mantras

Mantra 1

Mantra 2

Mantra 3

Mantra 4

Mantra 5

Mantra 6

Mantra 7

Mantra 8

Mantra 9

Mantra 10

Inside Sukta 21

How it unfolds

  1. Where it opens

The hymn opens with the soma pressed and presented as a divine, light-winning draught, calling Indra—by nature and birth—to respond and “wake” to the sacrifice and song.

  2. Development

Praise expands Indra’s stature: his will makes him vast, his greatness spreads through the worlds, and his own force accomplishes the archetypal victory over Vṛtra; no foe can measure his battle.

  3. Climax

Indra’s Vṛtra-slaying, limitless martial power is proclaimed as decisive and unsurpassable, grounding the worshippers’ confidence in his help.

  4. Where it settles

The hymn resolves in direct petitions: establish in us the impulse that moves toward Indra, grant enduring capacity and richness to the praiser, and protect us always with harmonies of well-being.

The deity: Indra

  • Inner significanceIndra symbolizes awakened force of will and victorious energy—clarity and courage that break inner obstruction, release inspiration, and empower right action.

The seer
