Вот место его ашрама; из-за его духовной мощи ракшасы со страхом взирают на эту южную сторону, но не могут здесь охотиться и вредить.
This is his hermitage. On account of his (Agastya's) impact the demons look south but cannot eat the hermits out of fear (for the sage).
Dharma protects: the ascetic’s tapas functions as a shield for the innocent. Wickedness is restrained not merely by force, but by the moral-spiritual authority of a righteous life.
The sage explains that Agastya’s hermitage is effectively off-limits to demons, who fear his influence.
Agastya’s spiritual potency joined with protective compassion—his righteousness creates safety for others.
