grāso bhūsahito vipra raso vyāptaṃ tataśca hṛt | dāhonāṃbu ca hṛtpaścādrayeṃ'bumarudanvitaḥ || 66 ||
Narada (teaching in a technical/Vedanga-style exposition within Book 1.3)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It frames bodily digestion as an ordered elemental process (earth, water, wind, and heat), encouraging a dharmic view of the body as a regulated instrument for sādhana rather than mere sense-enjoyment.
Indirectly: by clarifying how the body sustains life through regulated inner forces, it supports the bhakti ideal of disciplined living—food, conduct, and purity maintained so the mind can remain steady in remembrance and worship.
A technical, quasi-Āyurvedic account of digestion and rasa-circulation—useful for understanding ritual fitness (śauca), diet-regulation, and the role of vāyu and agni in maintaining bodily balance.
